Dr. Philip Swicegood teaches Finance at Wofford College. He holds a Ph.D. in
Finance from Florida State University, an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of
Texas-Austin, and a B.S. degree in Finance and Philosophy from Liberty University.
Philip founded and directs The Broad River Group LLC, a real estate investment firm.
He has worked in the banking industry as an analyst for the Office of the Comptroller of
the Currency, and has served as a business consultant for companies in the U.S.,
Russia, China, Vietnam, and Poland. In addition to teaching, Philip conducts finance
seminars for HighMark Inc., a non-profit consulting firm that provides business training
in developing countries. Philip and his wife Cindy have two children, Stephanie (age 9)
and Susanna (age 7). They are active in service and community at Broad River
Community Church, a non-denominational church in Boiling Springs, NC. When not
engaged with the three ladies of his life, Philip enjoys fly fishing, reading, ultimate
frisbee, and making ridiculously hard tests for his students.
