  Linda Powers teaches communications at Wofford. Powers is a member of the Spartanburg Commission of Public Works on which she has served for 18 years. Prior to being elected to the Commission of Public Works, she served on the Spartanburg City Council.

  Powers' interest in public policy began when she became a member of the League of Women Voters. She has served as the President of the League of Women Voters of South Carolina and is president-elect of the Business and Professional Women of South Carolina. She is married to Dr. Vic Bilanchone, Professor of Music Emeritus at Wofford.
