This 3-hr credit lecture course
introduces the mechanisms and actions of drug use in the nervous
system. Based on current psychological and pharmacological research;
we will explore how illicit,
recreational, and prescription drugs interact with your body to
produce their behavioral effects. See
the lecture topic schedule below for a specific listing of the drugs
explored. Students do NOT need to have any prior knowledge or prerequisite courses in order to successfully complete this course. This course does fulfill an elective requirement for the psychology major at Wofford College. Grades will be determined by the scores on 2 take home exams (60%) and a final exam (40%).
