The Novel Experience
is a special program for incoming students at Wofford College. Each year, a novel is selected for students to read over
the summer before their freshman year. This year the novel is Larry
Heinemann's National Book Award-winning Paco's Story.
As part of Hum 101-D we will spend the first week of the seminar
discussing the novel. You will also be asked to prepare a brief essay
on a theme to be assigned. September 21 the author will
visit the College for an 11:00am Convocation in which he will respond to
selected student essays, and an 8:00pm session when he will discuss his work less formally and read from more recent works.
