How do I document sources?

The information contained here is extremely abbreviated. It would be redundant for me to give a complete account of MLA citation on this page as such information already exists on-line. Additionally, many students find a grammar and research handbook easier to use than an on-line guide. The Harbrace Handbook is the classic text, though most publishers now have similar textbooks. My pages will not replace a good handbook; they are simply meant to remind you of the most important elements of parenthetical notation and point out the details that students in my classes most often forget.
