Moderated by President Benjamin Dunlap (not shown), "Write the Coast or Write It Off" showcased a panel of three writers whose works have been inspired by the natural beauty and culture of the coastal Carolinas. Shown left to right, Roger Pinckney (The Right Side of the River), Franklin Burroughs (A River Home), and Jan Deblieu (Hatteras Journal) read excerpts from their work and discussed the writer's role in helping to protect our native habitats.
This program was sponsored by our "The Nature and Culture of Water" freshman learning community at Wofford College with funding from the Spartanburg Water System and Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District and the National Science Foundation (DUE grant 0126788).
The program was held in the Veranda Room of the Richardson Building on the Wofford College campus and was free of charge and open to the public.
