50 Influential Photographs
Each team of 3-4 students will be given 50 numbered photographs and a separate
list of descriptions of those photographs. The exercise is to match each photograph
with the appropriate description. This requires a careful reading of each description
and a careful viewing of each image.
The purposes of this exercise are

to gain a sense of history of the photography

to see how photographs can be used for a variety of purposes

to identify those purposes

to distinguish what makes a photograph particularly effective

to see how photography has changed since its discovery

to see the most famous images of some of the most influential photographers
