Are you interested in how memory changes with age?
Are you (or someone you know) 60 to 80 years old?
We are always looking for volunteers for memory studies!
- Lab welcomes adults 60 – 80 years old
that are aging normally (should not have had a stroke or been
diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s).
- Studies last approximately 1 hour.
- Participants receive compensation of
10/hour.
- Studies will take place at Wofford College
in the Milliken Science Center in the Psychology department.
- Pen and paper tests and computer programs are
used to examine memory.
- No knowledge of computers is necessary, but we
will show you how to use one for each study.
- A typical computer task requires searching for
a repeated number or location.
- Studies are fun, but challenging.
- Studies are not diagnostic tests for memory
problems. We examine normal changes associated with the normal
aging process.
- At the end of the meeting, we can discuss any
questions you have about the study or about memory in general.
- You can participate in one or many studies.
- The research is conducted throughout the year.
-
If you are interested, please
contact us with
your name and number, and we will call you to schedule a meeting at
a time that is convenient for you.
- Your participation is greatly appreciated.
Studies provide valuable information to the understanding of memory
and aging!
- We are happy to provide copies of articles
published about our studies.
